This is a short video to demonstrate how mainstream desktop browsers such as Chrome, Safari and Firefox protect you from known malicious URLs. Whenever your browser renders a web page, it first checks to see if it has been classified as ‘malicious’. However, these same browsers on mobile, offer absolutely no safety.
Given that most people read email on their mobile first, this is a real problem. Furthermore, it’s possible to share links inside productivity apps such as HipChat and Slack. Unless protected by the MetaCert Security API, these apps and every other app with the ability to display webpages, offer zero protection against malicious links, or unwanted content that’s deemed nsfw.
This is why platforms like AppMakr and Appery.io now offer developers the option to add a thin, but powerful layer of security inside their apps.
